SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James Wesley Long of Silvis, who passed 
4away on December 19, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Long was born in Le Claire, Iowa  to Emory 
6and Stella Coffin Long on March 6, 1932; he served in the 
7United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War; he 
8then served for eight years in the Army Reserve; he was 
9discharged with the rank of Corporal in 1962; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, James Long worked for the International 
11Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Rock Island from 1958 
12until 1983; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, James Long was commander of American Legion Post 
14246; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, James Long was preceded in death by his parents 
16and his brothers, Robert, William, and Fred Long; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, James Long is survived by his daughter, Karen 
18(Marquel) Reynolds; his son, Kenneth (Kim) Long; and his 
19grandchildren, Kylie Long, Moriah Bangura-Long, Maliyah 
20Reynolds, and Micah Reynolds; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3James Wesley Long, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  James Long as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
