SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gary L. DeCraene of Bettendorf, Iowa,
4formerly of Moline, who passed away on December 18, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary DeCraene was born in Moline to Cyriel "Cy"
6and Selena Elizabeth "Liz" (VanOpdorp) DeCraene on September
722, 1938; he served in the United States Navy aboard the
8aircraft carrier USS Essex CVA-9; he married Betty Ritter at
9Sacred Heart Church in Moline on June 6, 1961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, In his early years, Gary DeCraene worked at the
11store owned and operated by his parents, Black Hawk Hardware;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Gary DeCraene had an affinity for antique cars,
14especially his 1936 Dodge Truck; he enjoyed taking care of his
15yard at home; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gary DeCraene is survived by his wife, Betty; his
17son, Rick (Cheryl) DeCraene; his daughter, Pam French; his
18grandchildren, Rachel, Dana, Spencer, Luke, and Mya; and many
19nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Gary L. DeCraene, and extend our sincere condolences to his
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Gary DeCraene as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
