SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leroy E. Woolley of Colona, who passed
4away on December 21, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leroy Woolley was born in Moline to Melvin and
6Irene Peters Woolley on June 5, 1932; he served in the United
7States Navy during the Korean War and married Jean Griffin at
8Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline on February 7, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leroy Woolley worked as a truck driver and retired
10from Dohrn Transfer; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Leroy Woolley was a member of the Rock River
12Rodders Car Club and the American Legion; he was an officer at
13the Moose Lodge in Geneseo; he enjoyed camping, fishing, and
14tinkering with old cars; he was an avid gardener; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leroy Woolley was preceded in death by his
16parents, Melvin and Irene Woolley; his stepmother, Dolly
17Woolley; his sister, MaryAlice VanVooren; and his brother,
18Wayne Woolley; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Leroy Woolley is survived by his wife, Jean; his
20children, Cathy (Ken) DeBaille, Karen (Lanny) Edwards, and

1James (Joy) Woolley; his grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Merritt,
2Angie (Keith) Bradley, Annie (Matthew) Schlechter, Cory
3(Brent) Bogen, Nick Edwards, Tim Woolley, and Sarah Woolley;
4his great-grandchildren, Nolan and Gretta Bradley, Max Bogen,
5and one on the way, Baby Merritt, arriving in March of 2017;
6and his brothers, Melvin Woolley, and Bob (Pat) Woolley;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Leroy E. Woolley, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Leroy Woolley as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
