SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence W. Baier Sr. of Woodstock, who
4passed away on November 8, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Baier Sr. was born in Chicago to Fred and
6Susan (Parry) Baier on December 15, 1931; he married Janice
7Reckers at St. Cyprian Catholic Church in River Grove on May
830, 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence Baier Sr. spent most of his life serving
10the Elmwood Park Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of
11Captain; he was a member of the Illinois Professional
12Firefighters Association; after retirement, he served the
13Woodstock community as a school bus driver for District 200;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lawrence Baier Sr. enjoyed camping, eagle
16watching, and many summers spent at his cabin in Minnesota;
17most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lawrence Baier Sr. was preceded in death by his
20parents; his grandson, Nicholas; and his sister-in-law, Gerry
21Baier; and

1    WHEREAS, Lawrence Baier Sr. is survived by his wife of 57
2years, Janice; his son, Lawrence W. (Julie) Baier Jr.; his
3daughter, Margaret (Lynn) Baier; his grandchildren, Rachel
4(Jeremy), Jacob, and Ellie; his great-grandchildren, Emma and
5Madelyn; his brothers, Fred (Billie) Baier, Donald Baier, and
6Norman (Kay) Baier; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
7great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lawrence W. Baier Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lawrence Baier Sr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
