SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Hugh Arkell "Skeet" Bateman Jr. of
4Johnsburg, who passed away on November 25, 2016 at the age of
571; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman was born in Evanston to Hugh A. and
7Dorothy (Stejskal) Bateman on July 29, 1945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman loved cooking, barbecuing, and
9hosting family get-togethers; he enjoyed restoring old cars,
10listening to a wide variety of music, drawing, whittling, and
11reading; he recently started traveling; he traveled to Brazil
12for the wedding of his exchange student son, Marcelo (Mohara)
13Lopes, and loved the Brazilian experience; he had a great sense
14of humor and a kind heart; he was willing to help everyone; his
15family was in awe of the fact that there seemed to be nothing
16he could not fix; his family meant everything to him; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman was preceded in death by his mother,
18Dorothy; and his sister, Diane Cisco; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman is survived by his children, Joel
20(Sarah) Bateman, Nicholas Bateman, Erik (Elizabeth) Bateman,
21and Christopher Bateman; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Jack;

1his father, Hugh Bateman Sr.; his sisters, Lee Bateman and
2Barbara Jean (Ron) Dickson; and his ex-wife and friend, Cindy
3Bateman; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Hugh A. "Skeet"
7Bateman Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
8friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Hugh Bateman as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
