SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis J. Link Sr. of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on November 2, 2016 at the age of 93; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Link Sr. was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to
6George and Emiley (Cunningham) Link on July 12, 1923; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Louis Link Sr. was a veteran of the United States
8Army serving his country during World War II; he completed
9basic training with the 14th Armored Division, 501st Field
10Artillery Battalion; he then transferred to the 3180th Signal
11Battalion before spending 14 months in Okinawa, Japan; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Louis Link Sr. belonged to the Cripple Creek,
13Colorado Elks Lodge #316 for over 40 years and was a
14parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Louis Link Sr. was preceded in death by his wife,
17Helen; and his son, George; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Louis Link Sr. is survived by his children, Gordon
19Link, Dennis (Karen) Link, Louis (Mary) Link, and Cynthia Link;
20his seven grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; and a

1special friend, Mary; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis J. Link Sr., and
5extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all
6who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Louis Link Sr. as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
