SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Franklin M. Pease of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on November 20, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was born in Worcester,
6Massachusetts to Charles and Marjorie (Pixley) Pease on June
711, 1923; he grew up in West Springfield, Massachusetts and
8graduated from West Springfield Massachusetts High School in
91941; he graduated from the University of Illinois
10Urbana-Champaign in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in
11Electrical Engineering; he married Norma Jane Koehler at
12Calvary Lutheran Church in Chicago on January 29, 1955, and in
131956, he and Norma moved to Crystal Lake; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease joined the United States Navy on
15January 4, 1942; he served for six years during World War II as
16an Electrician's Mate, First Class on the USS Beaver, a
17submarine tender which was assigned to both the Asiatic-Pacific
18Theater and the European-African-Middle East Theaters, along
19with the USS Cree, a fleet-ocean tug, which was assigned to the
20Asiatic-Pacific Theater and American Theater; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was employed by Commonwealth
22Edison Co. for more than 34 years in many capacities, retiring

1as a rates administrator; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was a member of St. Paul's United
3Church of Christ in Crystal Lake, American Legion Post 171 of
4Crystal Lake, and the Masons, Nunda Lodge No. 169 in Crystal
5Lake; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease enjoyed golf, amateur radio,
7traveling with his wife throughout the United States, Canada,
8and Europe, singing, telling stories, and spending time with
9his family; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was preceded in death by his wife,
11Norma; his parents; his brother, Charles; and his son, Michael
12Pease; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Franklin Pease is survived by his brother, Donald
14(Audrey) Clark; his daughter, Kathleen Pease; his
15daughter-in-law, Nicci Pease; his son, Thomas (Dawn) Pease; his
16daughter, Susan (Tom) Kirstein; his grandchildren, Aurora
17(Sean), Jeremy, Kerri, Jacob, Zoe, and Samantha; and his
18great-grandchild, Aiden Michael; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Franklin M. Pease, and extend our sincere condolences to his

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Franklin Pease as an expression of
5our deepest sympathy.
