SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Dan Knight of Park Ridge, who passed away 
4on December 20, 2016, at the age of 58; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Dan Knight graduated from Loyola University 
6Chicago and DePaul University; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dan Knight served as Alderman for the City of Park 
8Ridge since 2011; he chaired the city council's finance and 
9budget committee; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dan Knight advocated transparency and 
11accountability within city government, frequently objecting to 
12closed session meetings; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Dan Knight started an annual barbecue to raise 
14money for the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society, which will be 
15continued in his honor; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Most recently, Dan Knight was the city council's 
17liaison to the library board and Chairman of the Mayor's 
18Advisory Board; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dan Knight is survived by wife, Susan (Muench),

1and his sons, Will and Michael; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Dan Knight, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
5friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Dan Knight as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
