SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donna L. Johnson of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on November 8, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donna Johnson was born in Chicago to John and
6Gloria (Axtman) Orlowski on November 26, 1956; she married
7Randel "Randy" Johnson on November 26, 2006; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donna Johnson devoted the last 26 years of her
9life to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington where her
10impact was both wide and deep; she selflessly served, inspired,
11and demonstrated the greatest of compassion to patients and
12associates as Manager of Patient Relations; she was known
13nationally for her work with patient advocacy and was presented
14with the "Apex Award for Professional Excellence" from the
15Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy; she was a
16highly-regarded member of the Beryl Institute; she was the lead
17representative for Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in the
18Healthcare Equality Human Rights Campaign and was a coach for
19The Matter of Balance training; she served in many capacities
20on other committees; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Donna Johnson was a passionate advocate,
22fundraiser, and supporter for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation;

1she was a volunteer at the Animal House Animal Shelter in
2Huntley, and was a former member of the Algonquin/Lake in the
3Hills Chamber of Commerce; her greatest joy was spending time
4with her family, traveling, and most recently camping; she was
5an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Donna Johnson was preceded in death by her son,
7Michael Pry; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donna Johnson is survived by her husband, Randy;
9her son, Christopher Pry; her parents; her brothers, Dan (Sari
10Levy) and David (Anne) Orlowski; her stepdaughter, Lauren
11Johnson; her stepson, Scott Johnson; her step-grandchildren,
12Tarah Johnson, and Scott Johnson Jr.; and her mother-in-law,
13Laurene Johnson; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Donna L. Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Donna Johnson as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
