SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph Peter "Jose" Morales of Alton, who
4passed away on January 5, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Morales was born in Alton to Jose and
6Urvana (Macias) Morales on April 23, 1941; he served in the
7United States Army and married Linda Bush in Alton on June 14,
81969; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Morales retired in 1995 from the Illinois
10American Water Company after 20 years of service; he also
11founded Morales Taco and was the owner and operator of the Los
12Tres Amigos restaurants; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joseph Morales attended church at Ss. Peter & Paul
14Proto-Cathedral Church; he was a member of VFW Post 1308, the
15American Legion, the Alton Eagles, and the Mexican Honorary
16Commission; he was an avid fast pitch softball player, known
17for his "mystery pitch"; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joseph Morales was preceded in death by his
19parents; his grandson, Josh Corwin; his brothers, Raymond and
20Michael Morales; and his sisters, Lolly Voyles, and Angie
21Hagen; and

1    WHEREAS, Joseph Morales is survived by his wife, Linda; his
2daughters, Dawn (Keith) Treece, Melinda (Shawn) Wilkinson, and
3Urvana (Steve Humiston); his sons, Jeff Morales (Anita Murphy),
4and Jose Morales; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
5his brother, Mario Morales; and his sister, Rose Brewer;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Joseph Peter "Jose" Morales, and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Joseph Morales as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
