Biography: Full time legislator; former University of Chicago math professor; doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He has volunteered as a math teacher at the North Lawndale College Preparatory High School to at-risk students and served as a policy advisor to Governor Quinn on transparency and ethical reform. He resides in Evanston with his wife, Karin, a former Peace Corps volunteer who is working on her Ph.D. in history at Northwestern, and their children Elliot and Theodore.
