3 [May 1, 2001] The House met pursuant to adjournment. The Speaker in the Chair. Prayer by Reverend Randall Donahue of the Hope Lutheran Church in Countryside, Illinois. Representative Hartke led the House in the Pledge of Allegiance. By direction of the Speaker, a roll call was taken to ascertain the attendance of Members, as follows: 115 present. HOUSE RESOLUTION 203 Offered by Representative Madigan: WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the people of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. John and Sharon O'Brien of Springfield, Illinois, will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of their marriage; and WHEREAS, John O'Brien and Sharon Fassero were united in holy matrimony on May 6, 1961 at St. Agnes Church in Springfield; and WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Marjorie of Long Beach, California, and Polly and Bridget, both of Springfield; and WHEREAS, John O'Brien retired from the position of Clerk of the Illinois House of Representatives after 24 years of service; and WHEREAS, John and Sharon O'Brien will be celebrating their fortieth wedding anniversary on May 6, 2001, surrounded by their family and friends; and
