| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 711

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 711 on page 1, by | ||||||
| 3 | replacing lines 12 through 15 with the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "1990 Federal census. | ||||||
| 5 | (a-5) In 2021, the General Assembly shall redraw the | ||||||
| 6 | boundaries of the subcircuits to reflect the results of the | ||||||
| 7 | 2020 federal decennial census. In accordance with subsection | ||||||
| 8 | (d), a resident judgeship assigned to a subcircuit shall | ||||||
| 9 | continue to be assigned to that subcircuit. Any vacancy in a | ||||||
| 10 | resident judgeship existing on or occurring after the effective | ||||||
| 11 | date of a law redrawing the boundaries of the subcircuits shall | ||||||
| 12 | be filled by a resident of the redrawn subcircuit.".
