SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
30 ILCS 500/50-36.5 new

    Amends the Illinois Procurement Code. Provides that on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, no State agency shall enter into or renew a contract with a business under this Code unless the contract declares that the business is not boycotting any jurisdiction with which the State of Illinois is not prohibited by law from doing business with or investing in, including Israel, and will not do so during the term of the contract. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning finance.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
5adding Section 50-36.5 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 500/50-36.5 new)
7    Sec. 50-36.5. Prohibition on contracts with businesses
8that boycott certain jurisdictions. On or after the effective
9date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, no
10State agency shall enter into or renew a contract with a
11business under this Code unless the contract declares that the
12business is not boycotting any jurisdiction with which the
13State of Illinois is not prohibited by law from doing business
14with or investing in, including Israel, and will not do so
15during the term of the contract.
 
16    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17becoming law.
