| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5005

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5005 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||
| 5 | 12g as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (20 ILCS 415/12g new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 12g. Department of Juvenile Justice; teachers. | ||||||
| 8 | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the | ||||||
| 9 | contrary, the Department of Central Management Services is not | ||||||
| 10 | required to verify the State educator license of a teacher | ||||||
| 11 | employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice if the license | ||||||
| 12 | is verified by the State Board of Education. | ||||||
| 13 | (b) This Section shall become inoperative when the consent | ||||||
| 14 | decree entered into on December 6, 2012 (as has been or may be | ||||||
| 15 | corrected, amended, or modified in the action entitled R.J., et | ||||||
| 16 | al. v. Mueller, case no. 12-cv-07289, in the United States | ||||||

| 1 | District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern | ||||||
| 2 | Division) is no longer in force.
| ||||||
| 3 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 4 | becoming law.".
