2 | | WHEREAS, On April 29 and 30, 2017, 14 students will
be |
3 | | completing an aerospace project to try and break the world
|
4 | | record for the highest radio-controlled airplane flight; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, These students have completed a six-week training
|
6 | | program in which they learned how to put together a project of
|
7 | | this nature, how to fly radio-controlled airplanes, and how to |
8 | | read
and understand the telemetry information sent back to the |
9 | | ground
station from the aircraft; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Their studies included meteorology, aeronautics,
|
11 | | aerodynamics, electrical theory, and system integration; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, They built, assembled, and tested three unmanned
|
13 | | air vehicles that will attempt to reach 100,000 feet and |
14 | | shatter
the current record for highest radio-controlled |
15 | | airplane flight; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, The 14 students from Nippersink Middle
School and |
17 | | Richmond Burton High School will travel to Spaceport,
New |
18 | | Mexico to undertake an Aerospace STEM Challenge; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, The students are Gerrit Kaup, Jacob Minker, Maggie
|
20 | | Ortmeyer, Eric Gordon, Hanne Nestler, Cody Lillge, Max Glassar,
|
