2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to recognize the life and service of Rev. |
4 | | Joseph P. "Joe" Hill; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Hill is one of the most popular teachers at |
6 | | the Power Circle Institute, the teaching component of the Power |
7 | | Circle Congregation, founded by him in 1996; his unique and |
8 | | dynamic style of speaking, training, and lecturing is |
9 | | unsurpassed; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Previously, Rev. Hill was a senior training |
11 | | consultant for AT&T Corporate Education and Training in |
12 | | Chicago; he began his career with AT&T in 1979 as an account |
13 | | executive in the major financial markets; for several years, he |
14 | | was recognized as one of the top 5% of the AT&T Achievers Club, |
15 | | a sales group where members must sell at least $3-10 million |
16 | | dollars per year; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Hill's extraordinary talents and skills as a |
18 | | teacher and motivator come from his background as a pupil and |
19 | | educator; he was a teacher and principal in the St. Louis and |
20 | | Chicago Public School
Systems; he holds a Bachelor of Arts in |
21 | | Education from Harris-Stowe College, a Master of Arts in Urban
|
22 | | Studies from Northeastern Illinois University, an |
|

1 | | Administrative Certification from
Chicago State University, |
2 | | and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University |
3 | | of Illinois at
Chicago; he has completed the core curriculum in |
4 | | the doctoral program in political
science from the University |
5 | | of Illinois at Chicago and has finalized his doctorate
degree |
6 | | in business management from Columbia Pacific University; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Hill has been an active member of the |
8 | | national March of Dimes Foundation Training
Team, where he |
9 | | helped to establish programs to address teenage pregnancy, |
10 | | infant mortality,
and infant morbidity in Los Angeles, Kansas |
11 | | City, and
Columbus; he has volunteered his time and talent |
12 | | speaking to students throughout the country and for national |
13 | | youth organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of |
14 | | America and the Boy Scouts of America; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Hill authors books, inspirational essays, |
16 | | poems, and speeches that are shared at seminars, meetings, |
17 | | workshops, and conferences; therefore, be it
|
18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
19 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
20 | | recognize the life and service of Rev. Joseph P. "Joe" Hill, |
21 | | and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it |
