Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that the Department of Revenue, with the assistance of the Office of Appraisals, shall maintain a database of all appraisals introduced as evidence in hearings before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of review. Provides that the database must be searchable by certain specified parameters. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning revenue.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 8-60 as follows: |
6 | | (35 ILCS 200/8-60 new) |
7 | | Sec. 8-60. Appraisal database. The Department, with the |
8 | | assistance of the Office of Appraisals, shall maintain a |
9 | | database of all appraisals introduced as evidence in hearings |
10 | | before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of review. |
11 | | The Department shall provide access to the database to any |
12 | | taxing body that has been notified that an appeal is to be |
13 | | taken before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of |
14 | | review. At minimum, the database shall be searchable by the |
15 | | following parameters, to the extent those parameters are |
16 | | applicable to the property: |
17 | | (1) the owner name; |
18 | | (2) the street address of the property; |
19 | | (3) the property index number, parcel number, or |
20 | | permanent index number; |
21 | | (4) the name of the subdivision in which the property |
22 | | is located; |
23 | | (5) the classification of the property; |
