AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2493 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2493 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended  by 
5adding Section 13 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 305/13 new)
7    Sec. 13. Supplemental deer food; study. The University of 
8Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, subject to 
9appropriation and in consultation with the Department of 
10Natural Resources, shall conduct a study for a period of at 
11least 2 years of the health effects of supplemental deer 
12feeding on the wild deer population and whether supplemental 
13feeding affects the spread of any communicable diseases within 
14the deer population. The study shall also designate geographic 
15locations where the practice of supplemental deer feeding may 
16be beneficial. The University of Illinois College Veterinary of

1Medicine shall submit its findings and
  recommendations to the 
2General Assembly
in a report no more than 60 days after the 
3completion of the study. The report to the General Assembly 
4shall be filed with the Clerk of the House of Representatives 
5and the Secretary of the Senate in electronic form only, in the 
6manner that the Clerk and the Secretary shall direct.".
