AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2640 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2640, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate  Amendment No. 
41, on page 1, immediately below line 3, by inserting the 
5following:

 
6    ""Section 3. The Department of Natural Resources 
7(Conservation) Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois 
8is amended  by adding Section 805-538 as follows:
 
9    (20 ILCS 805/805-538 new)
10    Sec. 805-538. Retiring officer; purchase of service 
11firearm and police badge. The Director of Natural Resources 
12shall establish a program to allow a Conservation Police 
13Officer who is honorably retiring in good standing to purchase 
14either one or both of the following: (1) any Department of 
15Natural Resources police badge previously issued to that 
16officer; or (2) if the officer has a currently valid Firearm

1Owner's Identification Card, the service firearm issued or 
2previously issued to the officer by the Department of Natural 
3Resources. The cost of the firearm shall be the replacement 
4value of the firearm and not the firearm's fair market value."; 
5and

 
6on page 1, line 4, by replacing ""Section" with "Section"; and
 
7on page 6, line 11, after the period, by inserting "The 
8Director of Natural Resources may dispose of a service firearm 
9or police badge issued previously to a retiring Conservation 
10Police Officer as provided in Section 805-538 of the Department 
11of Natural Resources (Conservation) Law of the
Civil 
12Administrative Code of Illinois.".
