2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are
|
3 | | proud to honor those who have given their lives in the defense
|
4 | | of our nation; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Robert D. Janssen was born in Bloomington to |
6 | | Arthur G. and Eva Johnson Janssen on January 6, 1948; he |
7 | | graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School in 1966 and |
8 | | worked for B.F. Goodrich; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Janssen joined the U.S. Army on July 10, |
10 | | 1967; he received basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri |
11 | | and advanced training at Fort Lewis, Washington; he was |
12 | | stationed in Germany and then arrived in Vietnam on April 1, |
13 | | 1968; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Cpl. Janssen was killed in action in Vietnam on |
15 | | June 3, 1968; therefore, be it
|
16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |
18 | | CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of Interstate |
19 | | 39 in Illinois from Exit 22 to Exit 27 as the "Cpl. Robert D. |
20 | | Janssen Memorial Highway"; and be it further |
