SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Lundy of Colona, who passed away
4on January 22, 2017 at the age of 86; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Lundy was born in Colona to Arthur and
6Edna Dobrinski Lundy on February 3, 1930; he married Hetty
7Staiger in Ulm, Germany, in January of 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Lundy was a veteran of the United States
9Army; he served in Korea, and retired as a First Sergeant; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Lundy was an independent truck driver; he
11was a lifetime member of Green Rock/Colona American Legion Post
121233, where he was the founder of their honor guard; he also
13was a member of AMVETS, VFW, 40 & 8, and Green River United
14Methodist Church; he was the co-founder of the Green Rock
15Memorial Day Parade; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Lundy was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brother, Arthur, who was killed in action in
18Korea; and a sister, Ruth Ann; and
 
19    WHEREAS, William Lundy is survived by his wife, Hetty
20Lundy; his children, Patricia Kennedy, Angela (Jeffery)

2great-grandchildren, and his sister, Bonnie Stamp; therefore,
3be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6William Lundy, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of William Lundy as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
