SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bruce Gilbert Dobbins of Erie, who passed
4away on April 2, 2017 at the age of 90; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruce Dobbins was a United States Army veteran and
6served during World War II as a Corporal in the Signal Corps;
7he was married to Darlene Hamilton for six years; he married
8Dorothy I. Shepherd in 1963 and they were married for 53 years;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bruce Dobbins was a tree trimmer, lumberjack, and
11surveyor; he sold Wausau Homes for 20 years and worked at
12General Electric for 28 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bruce Dobbins was a member of the Denton-Schreiner
14American Legion in Erie for more than 50 years; he enjoyed
15traveling and nature; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bruce Dobbins was preceded in death by his
17siblings, Maynard Lovejoy, Dale Lovejoy, and Roberta Lovejoy;
18and a grandson, Joey Davidson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bruce Dobbins is survived by his wife, Dorothy;
20his children, Kevin (Lyn) Dobbins, Dawn (Christopher) Pastick,

1Bruce (Toni) Davidson Dobbins, Brenda (Marty) Clevenger, and
2Brian (Kelly) Dobbins; his grandchildren, Nick (Libby)
3Dobbins, Luke Dobbins (fiancee, Jaime LaCoursier), Nathan
4(Samantha) Pastick, Jessica Pastick, and Josh and Amber
5Davidson, Dallas, Jordan, Jessie, Corinne Clevenger, and Fox
6Dobbins; and his great-grandchildren, Sam, Emma, Aaliyah,
7Myles, and Drew; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Bruce Gilbert Dobbins, and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Bruce Dobbins as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
