SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roy Martin Jr. of Coal Valley, who passed
4away on March 31, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Martin Jr. was born in Rock Island to Roy Sr.
6and Marie Verhelst Martin on June 15, 1931; he served in the
7United States Army during the Korean War and married Sharon
8DeFrieze in November of 2002; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roy Martin Jr. was a steelworker at Alcoa
10Davenport Works for over 56 years, retiring in March of 2007;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Roy Martin Jr. was a member of United Steelworkers
13Local 105 in Bettendorf, Iowa and the Aluminum Workers
14International Local 105 in Bettendorf; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Roy Martin Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents and his wife, Sharon; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Roy Martin Jr. is survived by his son, Kyle
18Martin; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Roy Martin Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Roy Martin Jr. as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
