SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William D. "Bill" Gibbons Jr. of Silvis,
4who passed away on April 27, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Gibbons was born in Beaman, Iowa to
6William David Sr. and Helen Jane Blow Gibbons on December 9,
71920; he served in the United States Army during World War II;
8he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Iowa
9State University in 1947 and married Gail Barbara Aspel in
10Riceville, Iowa on September 13, 1947; and
 
11    WHEREAS, William Gibbons worked for International
12Harvester as the manager of manufacturing engineering at the
13East Moline Works and retired after 37 years of service in
141984; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Gibbons was preceded in death by his wife,
16Gail and his brother, Donald Gibbons Sr.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Gibbons is survived by his children,
18Barbara (Tom) Cavanaugh, Marcia (Jim Bolton) Gibbons, William
19III (Pam) Gibbons, and Jon (Lucy Junus) Gibbons; his
20grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Zelnio, Erin Zelnio,
21Matthew (Juliane Nguyen) Bolton, Brady Bolton, Jessica (Ryan)

1Haugo, and Danielle (Stephen) West; his great-grandchild,
2Sawyer Haugo; and his sister, Janice Johnson; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5William D. "Bill" Gibbons Jr., and extend our sincere
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of William Gibbons as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
