SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lyle H. Beresford of Moline, who passed
4away on June 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lyle Beresford was born in Vinton, Iowa to John
6and Ethel Harper Beresford on June 9, 1920; he graduated from
7Davenport Central High School in 1939 and served in the United
8States Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946; he married
9Maurine Hambleton in Moline on April 11, 1944; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lyle Beresford retired from Roycouff Floor
11Covering in 1984, after 38 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lyle Beresford was a charter member of Elim
13Covenant Church; he served as church chairman and Hi-League
14counselor; he taught Sunday school, led the Keenagers, and sang
15many beautiful solos; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lyle Beresford was preceded in death by his
17parents; his wife, Maurine; his granddaughter, Christy Jacks;
18his sisters, Jean Ball and Jeanette Frerichs; and his brother,
19John Beresford; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lyle Beresford is survived by his daughters, Carol

1(Duane) Jacks, Danielle (Jim) Ogden, and Jeanine (Wayne) Allen;
2his grandchildren, Brad (Delia) Jacks, Hannah (Raul) Solis, and
3Sarah (James) Ballard; seven great-grandchildren; and a
4great-great-grandson; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Lyle H. Beresford, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Lyle Beresford as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
