2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Marvin S. Keller of Coyne Center, who |
4 | | passed away on August 15, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was born in Rock Island to Theodore |
6 | | and Vera (Liphardt) Keller on October 19, 1949; he married |
7 | | Susan Timmons on July 2, 2005 at their home in Illinois City; |
8 | | he was previously married to Melody Randall and Diane Barber; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Keller served in the United States Army |
11 | | National Guard; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was a friendly, sociable person with |
13 | | a finely-honed dry sense of humor, specializing in sarcasm; he |
14 | | enjoyed fishing and water skiing, and rounds of golf with his |
15 | | friends followed by rounds of beer at Dooley's Bar; he was an |
16 | | avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; he loved nature and was |
17 | | proud of his vegetable garden; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was preceded in death by his father, |
19 | | Theodore Keller; his mother, Vera Lester; his niece, Ann |
20 | | Lamson; his grandson, Foster Atwood; his best buddy, Roger |
21 | | Evins; and his loyal dogs, Muffy and Rambo; and

2 | | Timmons-Keller; his children, Rick (Abbie) Keller, Jaime |
3 | | (Kevin) Atwood, Chuck (Kristy) Keller, and Brandy Keller; his |
4 | | stepchildren, Stephanie (Craig) Slaughter and Lee (Trisha) |
5 | | Weeks; his grandchildren, Tristyn Rivera, Emma Atwood, Ethan |
6 | | Rivera, Julia Keller, Ashley Kelly, Anthony McGill, Ethan |
7 | | Slaughter, and Noah Slaughter; his great-grandchild, Leila |
8 | | Jean; his sisters, Barbara Lamson and Peggy Beane; his beloved |
9 | | dogs, Buster and Chloe; and many in-laws, aunts, uncles, |
10 | | nieces, and nephews, cousins, and life-long friends; |
11 | | therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Marvin S. Keller, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
16 | | further
