SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin S. Keller of Coyne Center, who
4passed away on August 15, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was born in Rock Island to Theodore
6and Vera (Liphardt) Keller on October 19, 1949; he married
7Susan Timmons on July 2, 2005 at their home in Illinois City;
8he was previously married to Melody Randall and Diane Barber;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Keller served in the United States Army
11National Guard; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was a friendly, sociable person with
13a finely-honed dry sense of humor, specializing in sarcasm; he
14enjoyed fishing and water skiing, and rounds of golf with his
15friends followed by rounds of beer at Dooley's Bar; he was an
16avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; he loved nature and was
17proud of his vegetable garden; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marvin Keller was preceded in death by his father,
19Theodore Keller; his mother, Vera Lester; his niece, Ann
20Lamson; his grandson, Foster Atwood; his best buddy, Roger
21Evins; and his loyal dogs, Muffy and Rambo; and

1    WHEREAS, Marvin Keller is survived by his wife, Susan
2Timmons-Keller; his children, Rick (Abbie) Keller, Jaime
3(Kevin) Atwood, Chuck (Kristy) Keller, and Brandy Keller; his
4stepchildren, Stephanie (Craig) Slaughter and Lee (Trisha)
5Weeks; his grandchildren, Tristyn Rivera, Emma Atwood, Ethan
6Rivera, Julia Keller, Ashley Kelly, Anthony McGill, Ethan
7Slaughter, and Noah Slaughter; his great-grandchild, Leila
8Jean; his sisters, Barbara Lamson and Peggy Beane; his beloved
9dogs, Buster and Chloe; and many in-laws, aunts, uncles,
10nieces, and nephews, cousins, and life-long friends;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Marvin S. Keller, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Marvin Keller as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
