SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gustave L. "Gus" Sims of Milan, who
4passed away on November 29, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gus Sims was born in Moline to Earl Dean and
6Margaret E. Anderson Sims on November 16, 1943; he proudly
7served his country in the U.S. Army and married Patricia E.
8Hess in Galesburg on May 26, 1971; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gus Sims worked as a crib tender at Farmall,
10retiring after 23 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gus Sims enjoyed spending time with family,
12following his children and grandchildren's sporting events,
13motocross and stock car racing, collecting aluminum cans,
14working with his hands, and repairing small engines; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Gus Sims was preceded in death by his parents and
16his brothers, Ronald and Raymond Sims; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gus Sims is survived by his wife, Patricia; his
18children, Danny W. Sims, Pamela S. Sims, and Travis Sims; his
19grandchildren, Austin and Gracie Rose Sims; his
20great-granddaughter, Kadence Sims; his aunt, Mary L. Sims; and

1numerous loving family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Gustave L. "Gus" Sims, and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Gus Sims as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
