SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michelle R. Smet of Moline, who passed
4away on November 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michelle Smet was born in Madison, Wisconsin to
6Michael and Rose (Steinmetz) Bingham on October 21, 1960; she
7married Joseph Smet in Madison, Wisconsin on May 9, 1992; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Michelle Smet proudly served in the United States
9Army; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Michelle Smet was a kid at heart, and her laughter
11and smile lit up a room; she enjoyed painting, gardening, the
12Christmas season, and spending time with family; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Michelle Smet was preceded in death by her
14grandson, Grayson; and her nephew, Tyler; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Michelle Smet is survived by her parents; her
16children, Chelsea Smet (Gerry Loeffler), Jared Smet (Victoria
17Umstattd), and Michela Smet (Doug Bradenburg); her
18grandchildren, Cali, Ayla, Avreigh, Emery, and Kinsley; her
19significant other, Kevin Jones; her sisters, Mary and Julie;
20her brothers, Michael, Mark, and David; and her former husband,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Michelle R. Smet and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Michelle Smet as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
