SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Calvin Bland, who passed away on December
48, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Calvin Bland was born on July 6, 1948; he was
6educated at De La Salle High School; he then earned a bachelor
7of arts and a bachelor of science at Eastern New Mexico
8University; he also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal
9Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso and attended
10Lewis University College of Law; he became a paralegal; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Calvin Bland loved chess and national wildlife; he
12was a member of the National Rifle Association; he was an avid
13traveler and went to London, Paris, Spain, Portugal, Amsterdam,
14Germany, the Bahamas, and many other places; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Calvin Bland is survived by his beloved wife of 32
16years, Renee; his children; his grandchildren; his
17great-grandchildren; his sisters and brother; and his nieces,
18nephews, aunts, and uncles; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Calvin Bland and extend our sincere condolences to his family,

1friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Calvin Bland as an expression of our
4deepest sympathy.
