SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George William Clary of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on December 9, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Clary was born in McCook, Nebraska to
6Charles H. and Martha H. Clamp Clary on June 13, 1944; he was
7educated in McCook schools and attended Black Hawk College in
8Moline and El Paso Community College in Texas; he married
9Carole Barnett in McCook on June 3, 1963; he later married
10Diane Robinson Rathjen in Moline on May 26, 1989; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Clary served in the U.S. Army for 22 years,
12retiring on June 30, 1991 and achieving the rank of First
13Sergeant; he was then employed at the Rock Island Arsenal; he
14retired on October 31, 2015; and
 
15    WHEREAS, George Clary loved bowling, going on cruises, and
16spending time with his family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, George Clary was preceded in death by his wife,
18Diane; his parents; his sister, Doris; and his daughter,
19Kimberly; and
 
20    WHEREAS, George Clary is survived by his stepson, Kent

1(Carol) Rathjen; his stepdaughter, Kelli (Greg) Whitesides;
2his grandsons, Damon and Dylan Nimrick; his brother, Delbert
3(Lillie) Clary; his sisters, Betty Sprenkle, Viola McBride, and
4Alice Marks; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7George William Clary, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of George Clary as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
