SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert K. Ringoen of Reynolds, who passed
4away on January 22, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Ringoen was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota
6to Kermit and Ruby Struck Ringoen on May 27, 1943; he served in
7the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and married
8Elizabeth "Ann" Thompson at St. Patrick's Church in rural
9Raritan on August 5, 1977; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Ringoen worked as a diesel engine mechanic
11for over 30 years for the Hicklin GM Power Company in Milan,
12Interstate Detroit Diesel in Davenport, Iowa, and Tennant
13Trucking Inc. in Orion; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Ringoen enjoyed volunteering at Reynolds
15American Legion Post 1166; he enjoyed doing yard work, taking
16walks, working on the Reynolds American Legion playground,
17gardening, and spending time with his family, including his
18grand and great-grandchildren; he was an avid NASCAR fan; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Ringoen was preceded in death by his
20parents; his brothers, Marvin and Ronald; his sister-in-law,
21Jeanie Ringoen; and his brother-in-law, Bob Nelson; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Ringoen is survived by his wife, Elizabeth
2"Ann" Ringoen; his daughters, Sonia (John) Enderby, Heidi Carr,
3and Kristin (Matt) Dean; his grandchildren, Alaina, Isaiah,
4Dalton, Jackson, Henry, and George; his great-grandson, Keean;
5one great-granddaughter on the way; his siblings, Jean Nelson,
6Shirley (Terril) DeBerg, Sherri (Richard) Carpenter, John
7"Jack" Ringoen, and Mark Ringoen; several nieces, nephews, and
8great-nieces and nephews; and many in-laws; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Robert K. Ringoen, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Robert Ringoen as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
