SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William D. "Bill" Hansen of East Moline,
4who passed away on March 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was born in Streator to Elmer and
6Marie (Marx) Hansen on November 14, 1927; he graduated from
7Ottawa Township High School in 1945; he then graduated from St.
8Ambrose College and received his master's degree from Western
9Illinois University; he married Barbara J. "Mic" McCoy in
10Moline on June 3, 1950; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Hansen worked for the East Moline School
12District #37 as a teacher and principal for 30 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Hansen served in the Army Signal Corps; he
14was a member of Illinois Retired Teachers, the Moline American
15Legion, and Faith Lutheran Church in Moline; he was a lifetime
16member of the Illinois PTA; he was proud of his Danish
17heritage; his greatest pride and joy was his family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was preceded in death by his parents;
19his wife, Barbara; and his sister, Arlene; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bill Hansen is survived by his children, Thomas E.

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7William D. "Bill" Hansen and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bill Hansen as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
