SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Murrel Sackett of Silvis, who
4passed away on May 10, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Sackett was born in Moline to Paul and
6Lillian (Payton) Sackett on May 17, 1930; he proudly served in
7the United States Military and Air Force from 1951 until 1955;
8he married Patricia Westlund in 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Sackett worked as a machine mechanic at the
10Rock Island Container Corp., JI CASE, and Cummins Diesel; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Sackett enjoyed golfing, reading, walking,
12and exercising at the Moline YMCA; he also enjoyed helping out
13those at the Heartland Towers in Silvis; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Sackett was preceded in death by his
15parents; his brothers, Cliff and Bud; and his sister, Georgie;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Sackett is survived by his daughters, Cindy
18Sackett and Sandy Solverson; his brother, Bill Sackett; his
19grandchildren, Nathan Drewes, Danielle Solverson (Andrew
20Grohne), Erik Solverson, and Karl Tornquist; his many nieces

1and nephews; and his special friends, Brad and Kristy Hammond,
2Tim and Mary Ann Reagan, Glen and Mary Ferns, and Robert and
3Donna Tornquist; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Robert Murrel Sackett and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Robert Sackett as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
