2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Billy E. Sherrod of East Moline, who |
4 | | passed away on May 18, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sherrod was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to |
6 | | Claude F. Sr. and Pauline Ralston Sherrod on March 3, 1932; he |
7 | | served in the U.S. Army and married JoAnn L. Ponce in East |
8 | | Moline on October 30, 1954; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sherrod worked as a welder and set-up man |
10 | | for Ametek and the George Evans Corp. for many years; he |
11 | | retired in 1994; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sherrod enjoyed gardening, fishing, |
13 | | gambling, going to garage sales, and spending time with his |
14 | | family, especially his grandchildren; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sherrod was preceded in death by his |
16 | | parents; his son, Dennis Sherrod; his brothers, Thomas and |
17 | | Claude F. Sherrod Jr.; and his sisters, Helen Anderson and |
18 | | Dorothy Nelson; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sherrod is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his |
20 | | daughters, Terri (Mark) Henry and Sandra (Carl) Horton; his |

1 | | daughter-in-law, Lisa (Jim) Sherrod Coleman; his |

4 | | (Jordan) Lane, Scott Horton, Joshua (Amanda) Sherrod, Jamie |
5 | | Sherrod, and Jennifer Sherrod; his great-grandchildren, |
6 | | Brennen, Izak, Adalyn, Laura, Alivia, Landin, Sawyer, Ashlyn, |
7 | | Ava, Colton, Ethan, Andrew, Blake, Drew, Briann, Jaydon, |
8 | | Landin, and Audie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional |
9 | | family; therefore, be it

10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
12 | | Billy E. Sherrod, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
14 | | further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to the family of Billy Sherrod as an expression of |
17 | | our deepest sympathy.
