SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vernon Lee "Vernie" Goodman of Moline,
4who passed away on May 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vernon Goodman was born in Seabring, Florida to
6Vernon B. and Lela (Kistenmacker) Goodman on February 11, 1959;
7he graduated from Rock Island High School and served in the
8U.S. Army National Guard; he married Debra Randall in Rock
9Island on August 24, 2012; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Vernon Goodman was employed by Rudy's Tacos,
11National Railroad, and Moline Forge; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Vernon Goodman enjoyed hiking, winter camping,
13walking his dog, and spending time with his grandchildren; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Vernon Goodman was preceded in death by his
15parents and his brother, Raymond Goodman; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Vernon Goodman is survived by his wife, Deb; his
17son, Michael (Davia) Goodman; his grandchildren, Tristen
18Goodman, Jada Saffell, and Brayden Goodman; his sisters,
19Jacqueline (Tim Miller) Goodman, Pam (Gary Smith) Long, Sherri
20(Dennis) Scrutchfield, and Brenda (Jim) Pyrz; his brothers,

1Terry Goodman and Mark Johnson; and his extended family, Mark
2(Sue) Bleuer, Linda (Mike) Leaver, Dani Leaver, Theresa Bleuer
3Maas, Brandon Ford, Sarah Maas, and Mark and Rory Buehl;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Vernon Lee "Vernie" Goodman and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Vernon Goodman as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
