SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles C. Ulfig Jr. of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on July 24, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was born in Batavia to Charles Sr.
6and Jenny (Johnson) Ulfig on June 7, 1928; he served in the
7U.S. Navy during World War II and then earned a bachelor's
8degree in engineering from the University of Illinois; he
9married Patricia J. Bradshaw in Rock Island on April 12, 1952;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig worked for the Victor Gasket Co.,
12retiring as national sales manager in 1990; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was a member of the Rock Island
14Moose Lodge, Rock Island VFW Post #1303, and the University of
15Illinois Engineering Society; he enjoyed stamp and coin
16collecting, golfing, fishing, and cooking; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was preceded in death by his wife,
18Patricia; his son, Charles Ulfig; and his brother, James Ulfig;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig is survived by his children, Ralph

1"Brad" (Ruth) Ulfig, Catherine "Cathi" (Carl) Fetzner, and
2William (Helen) Ulfig; his grandchildren, Brandon (Sheri)
3Ulfig, Kayla Ulfig, Nicholas (Denise) Fetzner, Laura Fetzner,
4Heidi (Yuri) Pavlov, and Eric (Amber) Fetzner; his
5stepgrandchildren, Jamie Claeys, Mandy Jochim, Ellen Clow, Ed
6(Nancy) Clow, Jami Clow, and Tom (Barb) Clow; and 12
7great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charles C. Ulfig Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charles Ulfig as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
