SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold Lee Blasdell of Moline, formerly
4of Erie, who passed away on July 31, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell was born in Fenton to Charlie and
6Lillian (Lindsley) Blasdell on June 10, 1938; he served
7honorably in the United States Navy; he married Sandra K. Smith
8at St. Catherine's Church in Prophetstown on August 19, 1961;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell worked at John Deere Harvester as
11a sheet metal worker and retired after 38 years of service; he
12then worked part time for HyVee in Moline; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell served on the Erie Library Board
14and was active at St. Ambrose Church in Erie; after moving to
15Moline, he attended Word of Life Church in Rock Island with his
16son; he was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the
17Dodgers; he coached his sons and was dedicated to the Er
ie Ball
18Association; he was social and made friends wherever he went;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell was preceded in death by his wife,
21Sandra; his parents; and his siblings, Chuck Blasdell and Ellen

2    WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell is survived by his sons, Curtis
3(Olivia) Blasdell and Tim Blasdell; his 11 grandchildren; his
417 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Knox, Caroline
5Hansen, and Grace (Fred) Smathers; and his special friend,
6Monika Freels; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Harold Lee Blasdell and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Harold Blasdell as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
