SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vincent Frank Klauer Jr. of Rock Island,
4who passed away on August 5, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was born in Rock Island to
6Vincent Sr. and Antoinette Morlock Klauer on March 27, 1928;
7the oldest of ten siblings, he enjoyed working on cars and
8taking family camping trips in his younger years; he was a
9veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean
10War; he married Beverly J. McGrew in Rock Island on June 17,
111950; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. worked as an electrical
13supervisor for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric, currently
14Mid-American Energy, and retired in 1990 after 41 years of
15service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was a member of St. Pius X
17Catholic Church in Rock Island, the Knights of Columbus Allouez
18Council 658, the Rock Island Elks Lodge 980, and the Moline
19American Legion Post 246; he spent his retirement years
20volunteering as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and adoration
21adorer; he frequently spent time at church helping with
22maintenance projects; he spent his recreational time fishing,

1hunting, and golfing; he was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer,
2constantly working on electrical, mechanical, woodworking, and
3remodeling projects at home and for family and friends; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was preceded in death by his
5wife, Beverly; his parents; his son, Dennis Klauer; his
6grandchildren, Brett and Trish Klauer; and his siblings, Fr.
7Arnold Klauer, Theresa DeCrane, and Janet Norman; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. is survived by his sons, Terry
9(Ann) Klauer and Glenn (Carol) Klauer; his grandchildren,
10Mychele Mack, Jessica (Peter) Martinez, and Allison and Ketty
11Klauer; his great-grandchildren, Brooks and Glavin Klauer and
12Vincent Martinez; and his siblings, Richard Klauer, Clarence
13(Shirley) Klauer, William (Kay) Klauer, David (Jean) Klauer,
14Bernard (Carol) Klauer, and Cecilia Kargl; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Vincent Frank Klauer Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
18his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Vincent Klauer Jr. as an expression
22of our deepest sympathy.
