SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin Lowell Johnson of East Moline, who
4passed away on September 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson was born in Moline to Robert and
6Naoma Yates Johnson on September 13, 1933; he graduated from
7Rock Island High School in 1951 and served in the United States
8Navy during the Korean War; he married Donna Olson in Moline on
9November 17, 1957; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson worked as a carman for the Rock
11Island Railroad for 24 years; he retired from the Butterworth
12Center after 19 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson enjoyed fishing, hunting,
14gardening, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his
15family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson was preceded in death by his
17parents; his sister, Maradelle Ragland; and his brother, Donny
18Johnson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson is survived by his wife, Donna; his
20children, Tim (Donna) Johnson, Ranell (Doug) Dennis, and Tanya

2great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and his sister, Janet
3Cooper; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Marvin Lowell Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Marvin Johnson as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
