SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David A. Coakley of Collinsville, who
4passed away on November 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Coakley was born in Alton to Robert Lee and
6Robbie Darlene (Cheek) Coakley on June 14, 1945; he married
7Joanne Noel on February 22, 1964; and
 
8    WHEREAS, David Coakley was an electrician at Granite City
9Steel for 34 years, retiring in 2000; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Coakley was a faithful member of the West
1122nd Street Baptist Church in Granite City, where he was a
12trustee and head usher; he was also a member of the Granite
13City V.F.W. and the Granite City Eagles; he volunteered
14numerous hours of his time coaching Little League Baseball and
15American Legion Baseball; he was a outdoorsman and enjoyed
16hunting, fishing, and golf; and
 
17    WHEREAS, David Coakley was preceded in death by his parents
18and his brother, Rodger (Janice) Coakley; and
 
19    WHEREAS, David Coakley is survived by his wife, Joanne; his
20son, Keith Coakley (Laura Mellenthin); his daughter, Cindy

1(Steve) Vargo; his grandson, Connor Vargo; his grandchildren,
2Andrea Mellenthin, Matt (Aria) Mellenthin, and Sarah (Chad)
3Bruce; his brother, Melvin (Donna) Coakley; his
4brother-in-law, David (Norine) Noel; numerous nieces and
5nephews; and his doggies, Libby and Buster; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8David A. Coakley and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of David Coakley as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
