SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Charles Cerk of Waukegan, who passed away 
4on August 25, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Cerk graduated from Waukegan High School  
6in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army from April 19, 1956 to 
7March 26, 1958; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Cerk retired from US Steel and Abbott 
9Laboratories; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Charles Cerk was a member of Zion-Benton Moose 
11Lodge 667, the Abbott Men's Club, the US Steel Retirees Club, 
12and the Slovenic National Home; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Charles Cerk was preceded in death by his parents, 
14Charles and Lisle Cerk; his sister, Jean Bauer; and his nephew, 
15Craig Bauer; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Cerk is survived by his wife of 57 years, 
17Janet; his daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Kreul and Caryn (Tony) 
18Martin; his  grandchildren, Alex (Robin) Kreul, Zachary Kreul, 
19Mitchell Kreul, Angelica Kreul, Lauren Ripley, and Benjamin 
20Tollefson; his great-grandchild, Michael John; and his

1brother-in-law Dan (Pat) Furlan; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Charles Cerk and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
5friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Charles Cerk as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
