AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1270

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1270, AS AMENDED,
3with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
41, as follows:
 
5by replacing line 10 on page 12 through line 6 on page 13 with
6the following:
7    "(a) It Beginning January 1, 2004, it shall be the joint
8responsibility of a pharmacy and its pharmacist in charge to
9have trained all of its registered pharmacy technicians or
10obtain proof of prior training in all of the following practice
11areas as they apply to Illinois law and topics as they relate
12to the specific practice site and job responsibilities:
13        (1) The duties and responsibilities of the technicians
14    and pharmacists.
15        (2) Tasks and technical skills, policies, and
16    procedures.
17        (3) Compounding, packaging, labeling, and storage.

1        (4) Pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
2        (5) Record keeping requirements.
3        (6) The ability to perform and apply arithmetic
4    calculations.
5    Beginning January 1, 2022, it shall also be the joint
6responsibility of a pharmacy and its pharmacist in charge to
7ensure that all new pharmacy technicians are educated and
8trained using a standard nationally accredited education and
9training program, such as those accredited by the Accreditation
10Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)/the American Society of
11Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or other board approved
12education and training programs.".
