2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 3-100 as follows:
|
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-100) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-100)

7 | | Sec. 3-100. Definitions. For the the purposes of this |
8 | | Chapter, the following words shall
have the meanings ascribed |
9 | | to them:

10 | | "Electronic" includes electrical, digital, magnetic, |
11 | | optical,
electromagnetic, or any other form of technology that |
12 | | entails capabilities
similar to these technologies.

13 | | "Electronic record" means a record generated, |
14 | | communicated, received, or
stored by electronic means for use |
15 | | in an information system or for
transmission from one |
16 | | information system to another.
|
17 | | "Electronic signature" means a signature in electronic |
18 | | form attached to or
logically associated with an electronic |
19 | | record.
|
20 | | "Owner" means a person who holds legal document of |
21 | | ownership of a vehicle,
limited to a certificate of origin, |
22 | | certificate of title, salvage certificate,
or junking |
23 | | certificate. However, in the event a vehicle is the subject of |
