Amends the Uniform Crime Reporting Act. Provides that all data and information provided to the Illinois State Police under the Act are subject to audit. Provides that the Illinois State Police shall adopt rules for the audit procedure.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Uniform Crime Reporting Act is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 5-10 as follows: |
6 | | (50 ILCS 709/5-10)

7 | | Sec. 5-10. Central repository of crime statistics. The |
8 | | Illinois Department of State Police shall be a central |
9 | | repository and custodian of crime statistics for the State and |
10 | | shall have all the power necessary to carry out the purposes of |
11 | | this Act, including the power to demand and receive cooperation |
12 | | in the submission of crime statistics from all law enforcement |
13 | | agencies. All data and information provided to the Illinois |
14 | | State Police Department under this Act must be provided in a |
15 | | manner and form prescribed by the Illinois State Police |
16 | | Department and are subject to audit . On an annual basis, the |
17 | | Illinois State Police Department shall make available |
18 | | compilations of crime statistics required to be reported by |
19 | | each law enforcement agency. The Illinois State Police shall |
20 | | adopt rules for the audit procedure.
