HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The worst events of the Twentieth Century were
3inextricably connected with the crimes of Anti-Semitism; and
 
4    WHEREAS, It is the duty of American citizens, inhabitants
5of a land of the free, to totally oppose Anti-Semitism wherever
6it is seen, heard, or found; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Words of Anti-Semitism were recently spoken by an
8elected member of the United States Congress, Congresswoman
9Ilhan Omar of Minnesota; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we condemn words of Anti-Semitism wherever they are written or
13spoken, especially when they are written or spoken by the
14holder of an office of trust under the laws of the United
15States; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That we name Congresswoman Ilhan Omar as the
17speaker of these words; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That any condemnation of these words should
19specifically enumerate their Anti-Semitic content and condemn
20the continued existence of Anti-Semitism; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That we urge all of the communities represented
2by all American lawmakers to unite in their opposition to
3Anti-Semitism; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be delivered to
5the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy
6Pelosi and to each member of the Illinois Congressional
7Delegation.
