HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Edward E.
4House, who passed away on October 5, 2019 at the age of 82; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed House was born in Monmouth to Dell J. and
6Winifred (Gilmore) House on June 18, 1937; he graduated from
7Monmouth High School in 1955 and spent the following four years
8serving an apprenticeship at the John Deere Works through Black
9Hawk College; he served eight years with the Illinois National
10Guard and married Tjodie Hughes at the Little York Methodist
11Church on June 7, 1959; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ed House worked as a journeyman machinist
13repairman for John Deere and retired in 1994 after 30 years of
14service; in his younger years, he worked in the Ford garage in
15Monmouth and the Warren County garage; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ed House was a member of the First Christian
17Church in Monmouth and a member of United Auto Workers Local
18#434, where he served on the CAP council; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ed House was a proud Democrat; he enjoyed golfing,
20hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family and
21friends; he loved cars and showing his Corvette; he won the

1National Super Chevy Car Show with his 1980 Corvette and, at
2one time, belonged to the Dragon Coolies Car Club; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ed House is survived by his wife, Tjodie; his
4children, Doug House, Brenda Nimrick, and Will House; his
5grandchildren, Tyler Nimrick, Thomas House, Ryan Nimrick, Evan
6House, Alyssa House, Hannah House, Spencer House, and Anthony
7House; his great-grandchildren, Kynlee Nimrick, Thomas House
8Jr., and Kye Nimrick; and his siblings, John House and Shirley
9Flannigan; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn the passing of Edward E. House and extend our
13sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
14and loved him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ed House as a symbol of our deepest
17sympathy.
