Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that a pesticide applicator shall notify a beekeeper if the pesticide is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries Act. Effective January 1, 2021.

1 | | AN ACT concerning safety.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 11.2 as follows: |
6 | | (415 ILCS 5/11.2 new) |
7 | | Sec. 11.2. Pesticide applicators; beekeepers. A pesticide |
8 | | applicator shall notify a beekeeper, as that term is defined |
9 | | under Section 1a of the Bees and Apiaries Act, if the pesticide |
10 | | is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered |
11 | | with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries |
12 | | Act.

13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
14 | | 1, 2021.
