SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bobby Dean Henson, who passed away on
4January 23, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was born in Johnsonville to Leslie
6and Myrtle (Wright) Henson on August 19, 1933; he attended
7Byron High School and the University of Illinois, where he
8studied business; he married Doris Oehl on June 19, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bobby Henson moved to the Streator area in 1966;
10he worked for Joyce Beverage (7UP) from 1953 to 1994 in various
11capacities, including truck driver, routes sales, distributor,
12and district manager; he started in the Rockford area and also
13managed offices in Streator, Bloomington, and Ottawa through
14the years; he later worked for the Turner Bus Company, driving
15a bus for Woodland School from 1995 to 2010; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was a member of the former Immaculate
17Conception Church, where he volunteered as an usher for many
18years; most recently, he belonged to St. Michael the Archangel
19Church in Streator; he was a member of the Teamsters Union and
20was a 3rd Degree member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights
21of Columbus Council #790; he also served on the Woodland High
22School Board of Education for several years; he loved golfing

1and fishing and enjoyed football and NASCAR; he was a loyal
2family man who loved spending time with his large family; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was preceded in death by his wife,
4Doris; his parents; his son, David Henson; his sisters, Delores
5Hanesford and Mary Lou Wiltfang; his brother, Ronald Henson;
6and his daughter-in-law, Judith Henson; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bobby Henson is survived by his daughters, Deborah
8(Mike) Cherveny, Linda (Kevin) Wargo, and Carol (Steve)
9Johnston; his sons, Richard (Sue), Dennis (Janice), Daniel
10(Sue), Terry (Sue), Larry (Colleen), Tim (Diana), and Mike
11(Billie Jo) Henson; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren;
12and his brother, Roger Henson; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Bobby Dean Henson and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Bobby Henson as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
