SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Curtis L. "Curt" Whitten of Moline, who
4passed away on February 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Curt Whitten was born in Pensacola, Florida to
6Jimmie R. and Linda Sue (Newingham) Whitten on February 14,
71963; he served in the United States Army; he married Rosetta
8G. Schomer in Andalusia on December 19, 1981; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Curt Whitten worked as a painter at the Rock
10Island Arsenal; he also did mechanic work at the Arsenal; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Curt Whitten was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears
12and the Chicago Cubs; he enjoyed being outdoors, hiking,
13camping, traveling to his cabin up north, and spending time
14with his grandchildren and family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Curt Whitten was preceded in death by his parents
16and his grandparents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Curt Whitten is survived by his wife, Rose
18Whitten; his children, Julie (Steven Clausen) Whitten, Curtis
19R. (Julie) Whitten, and Steaphanie (Jesse) Smith; his
20grandchildren, Alexander, Alie, Hayley, Desi, Emily, and Anna;

1his brother, John (Rebecca) Whitten; his sister, Jeanine
2(Walter) McIntosh; his four nieces; and his nephew; therefore,
3be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Curtis L. "Curt" Whitten and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Curt Whitten as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
